Hey, Happy Sunday
Happy Christ the King Sunday to all my liturgical calendar friends too. I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving! Chris and drove through the second worst weather I’ve ever driven through yesterday. And I used to live in Pennsylvania.
Bacon wrapped, ricotta stuffed, dates are in the oven. I am now realizing I forgot to top with salt and pepper. Do I take out halfway through? I think I will.
Chris is watching the Chiefs game, the Marco Polo notifications are poppin. I am content.
I’m in this strange place with my Christmas wish list. I am adding things to our wedding registry left and right. I am also trying to touch everything I own before we get married, and get rid of things I don’t want to bring with me into covenant relationship (like a mostly full pack of birthday cake flavored gum I’ve been hanging onto for who knows how long). Which is to say, maybe December will be less product-y? But also if you have wedding registry suggestions (someone suggested basement storage, and I am beyond grateful) send my way!
(Proof of good hair for later)
I hope today is beautiful for you!
Number One: Traeger Mac and Cheese
I think this is the first big, everyone there on Thanksgiving from my immediate family Thanksgiving we’ve had since 2019. I might be wrong. Anyway, it was time for me to bring something to the table. Oven space was at a premium. My parents have a Traeger Grill, so Chris and I whipped together this Mac and cheese. Fabulous. Enough to make me want to register for a Traeger as a wedding present.
Number Two: 21 Truths about Love
I picked up this book as a Thanksgiving break read at the Library and I really enjoyed it. It’s like if someone’s notes app was a book. I think it’s a better read than it would be audiobook for that reason. Easy, funny, charming.
Number Three: Trader Joe’s Taste Test of Caramels
These are one of my most favorite seasonal items. It’s 12 chocolate covered caramels, you don’t know which is which flavor, so you guess. Chris and I spread our tasting across a few weeks last year and it was so fun!
Number Four: A local mystery
In the market for a Kansas City guilded-age murder mystery podcast episode? Look no further. I really enjoyed this podcast episode. It’s not like 100% riveting, but kind of in a nice way. It’s like turning on a PBS special and finding yourself just not changing the channel.
Number Five: Kerastase Shampoo
One of my passions in life is using up samples I get from Sephora while on vacation. Last week I used this shampoo, and it could have been the climate, maybe, but my hair has NEVER looks shinier. And the shine stayed three days. I will be buying full bottles soon.
