I deleted TikTok off my phone a little over a week ago because I had a “am I a part of the problem?” moment. History would demonstrate that it is only a matter of time before I download it again.
That said, I hate the “January February March…” sound, but I watch every video because I love watching others self-reflect, I love a year in review.
So here is one for me, and Five Things. Friday I am sending a subscribers only issue in which I will hopefully be recapping making lamb stew from Supper of the Lamb, so stay tuned for that :)
January:
In January we launched a paid supporter option for Five Things, I am beyond grateful all of you who have joined! Mean it.

Not to whiplash into my personal highlight, but I treasure my trip to Sedona with Lilly. I still get misty thinking about the 99 roses on the statue of Jesus, and the one rose for the one lost sheep.
February
Feb was fun because I made my closest KC girlfriends go around in a circle and say their favorite memory that involved me for my birthday. February is also when I read Fix Your Period. Haven’t been the same since.
Most clicked link: Loving Tan. I love this stuff I really do. Sure I look a little orange for a day or two, but my mood is improved at least 40%, more than worth it if you ask me.
March
Jake and Elissa got married. I’ll never not be beyond grateful for my college friends. I got the Johnson and Johnson vaccine at Walmart.

April
April felt like Katherine’s Big Month of Rejection. But HuCo Events started to feel like a real business and I ran a fun race with friends.

May
I started making offers on houses in May big thanks to Makenzie and Becca. Plus I went to Oregon.

June
June was a true blast. I wrapped up pottery class, rode my bike a ton, floated a river, took up kayaking at Shawnee Mission Park, and was shocked when I finally got an offer accepted on a house.

July
I cried a lot about how much buying a house costs. But I also went to Hot Country Nights. We live in these Dichotomies.
August
I moved into my house that sometimes feels giant, sometimes feels tiny. I also went to in person classes for my grad program for the first time. I am not a fan of grad school. It will be a few years before I Five Things grad school. Enjoy this gif of Andrew drinking Tequila - grateful for friends who help me move.

September
I may or may not have given my sister a ten minute warning that she was about to get engaged.
Most clicked link: Ghosts. A fun read, imo.
October
Our busiest month yet for wedding coordinating! Plus a trip to Nashville. October is somehow always the most fun month. October is also when 2021 shifted out of Katherine’s Big Year of Rejection and fully into Katherine’s Big Year of New Opportunities with a fresh job offer.

December
This month has been full of joy and fun. I am so grateful that you’ve read this e-mail this far. If we are friends IRL and you are local, let me know you’ve made it here, and I’ll gift you an unscented candle or invite you over for dinner.
See you in the New Year!
