Happy Sunday!
Tonight when Chris picked me up for dinner he asked me if there was going to be a Five Things, at that time it didn’t look like it. But then he dropped me off, full of tortilla soup and one (1) beef crispy taco, and I was ready to write.
This might be the most random round up yet. But I hope you like, and I hope you encounter things this week that you love, that make you think, and that are worth sharing.
Number One: Hyalouronic Acid
I really do love talking about my skincare routine, and today I had to replace my empty hyalouronic acid. I love this stuff. It gives me a great, awake, glow. I typically use it after the morning face wash before moisture and vitamin C serum.
Number Two: Heartbreaking but worth it read
This is a long read, and it’s a doozy, it’ll break your heart. But it’s worth it read. The gist is that a reporter uncovered the story behind one teen amongst many, some young kids, who sell candy on the subway in New York. The piece reminded me what a privileged life I live, and that there’s always more to a person’s story.
Number Three: Chicken Fritters
This recipe is from the creator at sweatingatnaptime who is one those TikTokers, who I’m like, sure I’ll watch another day in the life compilation. Chris and I made it last Monday night and agreed it was one of the best Monday Night Dinners we’ve had in a while
Combine 1lb ground chicken, 1 cup mozzarella, 1/4 cup mayo, 1/3 cup flour, 1 egg in a bowl. Add dill and salt and pepper to a level that serves you. Heat oil in a pan on medium heat. Scoop mixture into little flat meatballs. Cook thoroughly enough to calm your fear of salmonella. Enjoy.
Number Four: Yellowface
I just finished the audiobook on this one. And speaking of doozies, the main character is d e s p i c a b l e. I missed the book club discussion, but really wish I could have been there, because I want to talk about it. I’m not even sure I recommend it ? But maybe I do ?
Number Five: Take your dog to the airport
I picked up Chris from the airport today and I took Honey with me because I don’t think she’s ever been to the airport, and it’s way too hot for a walk. Honey is my whole world, but I cannot imagine her on a plane. No.
